Singing Resistance is a mass movement of singers protecting & caring for our communities in the face of rising authoritarianism. Come SING!

What to expect:
One of the key principles of Singing Resistance is choosing songs that are simple enough to learn by ear in the moment. This means you can just show up as you are, no prep, no training, and no experience necessary. Just a love of singing and a belief in humanity's capacity to care for each other and the earth. Our songleaders are experienced at guiding crowds in song and emboldening us to rise up and sing out fully (even when we don't know all the words yet!). And how could we not? We are literally singing for our lives.

What songs will we sing?
We'll sing many of the standards from the Singing Resistance Songbook–songs born of this moment in our very own country–as well as anthems from freedom movements past. We'll also be featuring performances by resistance songwriters from right here in North Portland, including audrey voon, Laz, and more!

What to bring:
Please bring unopened, unexpired shelf-stable food and supplies for our mutual aid drive. Funds, food, and supplies will be channeled directly to families in North Portland who have been impacted by ICE.
