Vibing on Quantum Physics

Quantum physics teaches us that everything is vibrating, surrounded by a vibrational field at different frequencies. Sometimes we can see these vibrations, in the form of light, for example, but other times they simply go unnoticed—that table over there, my arm, that plant. When we play music or sing, we contribute to the vibrational pulse around us and within us. And, due to the sheer nature of the sound being produced from within our own body, singing impacts our body’s vibrational field at a cellular level. When we sing, that sound resonates through our entire body, awakening our nervous system and breathing life into every part of our being. It’s no wonder why those of us who sing in a choir or a band often find ourselves leaving with a smile on our face and a bounce in our step.

Singing changes us physically, mentally, and spiritually.

In our Soul Sing this month, we will delve further into the soothing and healing effect of our own voice on our body, mind, and spirit. We will sing through the seven chakras, drawing awareness to those points on our body where major nerve centers rest. Then, I will teach a song. This song is one that came to me on my very last morning at Breitenbush last month, just days before the fires that devastated the sacred land and structures there, destroying homes and forests nearby. As I sat by the river after breakfast, soaking in the sound of the water lapping over rocks, a melody took shape, and the words flowed. It’s a song that I have dedicated to my meditation community and one that I think might bring healing to you as well.

I invite you to join me this Thursday evening, from 7:00-8:00 pm for this special October Soul Sing.
