How are you doing?
I recently found this question etched by my 7-year-old self in an old classroom journal my 1st grade teacher stapled, covered, and bound some 27 years ago.
Among weekend sleepovers with friends, summer road trips to California, hopes of someday owning a horse, and notes about getting dim-sum with my family was this question, carefully written at the end of nearly all of my entries.
How are you doing?
A few times I even asked, How is your baby doing?
You see, my teacher was pregnant at the time, and I really wanted to know, not just in a passing busy talk kind of way, but with a desire for a deeper understanding of what it was like for her in that moment.
Stumbling upon these old journals I saw reflected back to me my lifelong yearning to understand others’ experiences, to be able to relate to those around me in a deeper, more personal way. Who’s to say if I was aware deep down that we are all connected, that my experience is yours, and yours is mine? But, on some level, I knew, even then that in asking the question I would open myself to the possibility of receiving an answer and knowing a fellow human in a new way. So, really, the question I was trying to ask was, How is it with your soul?
And I do wonder how it is with your soul. How are you filling the time? How are you finding connection to yourself, to others, and to that greater power which connects us all? How do you feel right now?
When posed with these same questions, I can’t help but find myself reflecting on recent conversations in the Full Voice group:
Self-love and self-acceptance come from within, not from without. I have the power to nurture and soothe myself, and only I know what I truly need.
In the context of my voice*, control = letting go. (*This also applies to pretty much all other areas in my life.)
If I do not celebrate my own wins, regardless of how big or small they are, then the accolades I receive from others are useless, and I feel empty once their words have faded.
I pause to consider the realizations and beautiful moments in my own journey to love my voice (and myself) more fully these past months:
Pregnancy is a most beautiful gift, and I am beginning to allow myself to relish in the moment. I feel empowered in the care for my own body, and I am trusting my intuition even more than before.
Creating physical space in our home is both an exciting and daunting process. I am grateful to be in community with other women who are going through a similar process in the Vibrant Life Mastery Program with Lael Petersen. Power of the posse, y’all.
Even the mundane can be a space for spiritual practice. Creating a Facebook post, writing an email, folding laundry—these are opportunities to be present in my own life and to experience the joy of being.
More succinctly, I would say that my soul is rich with love and ready to seek opportunities to give and receive and find balance in the day-to-day.
And, now I must ask you in earnest, with a deep desire to know...
How is it with your soul?
XOXO

Friday Morning Meditation
February 5, 12, 19, and 26 from 8:00-8:45 am
During the last round of the Vibrant Body/Wise Mind Ayurveda habits course, a few of us began meeting on occasion to meditate together. We meet on Zoom and generally spend a few minutes reconnecting, share a reading or quote, then we meditate for 20 minutes. At the end, we take time to share about our experience and what came up for us. I've found it enriches my own practice to learn about what others' meditation experience is like. We continue to meet Friday mornings and welcome others who may wish to join us.

Mama Meditation
Dates/times TBD
As I journey into the second half of my first pregnancy, I am finding myself craving spiritual and musical connection with other mamas. An idea that's been percolating is "Mama Meditation," where a small group of mamas meets each week to sing, connect, and meditate. My dream is to facilitate a 6-week experience where I teach a new song each week and we meditate together, either self-guided or guided by me (or both!). Day/time is TBD based on those who are interested. Right now we’re leaning toward either Wednesday or Thursday mornings. Gifts of gratitude welcome, though not required.

I would love, love, LOVE to squeeze in one more round of the Full Voice program before I ease more fully into my maternity leave. I’ll be offering just one section this time, and the group is limited to 12 participants. If you want to go deeper with your vocal practice or are seeking a greater sense of transformation when it comes to your voice (inner and outer), then please reach out for a Discovery Call. I’m reserving spaces early this time around in the hopes of accommodating those who couldn’t join us for the January-February round. Learn more
